Energetic Synthesis of Structural Embodiment (ESSE) is a unique body work which targets the connective fascial tissue located throughout the body. It combines Access Consciousness™ tools and body processes with hands on manipulation techniques. ESSE is designed to create changes in the structure and form of the body to facilitate ease with movement, function and the energetic body systems.
ESSE was created by Suzy Godsey of USA. Suzy Godsey is an Access Consciousness Certified Facilitator.
Fascia is a band or sheet of connective tissue, primarily collagen, present beneath the skin that attaches, stabilizes, encloses, and separates muscles and other internal organs. It is called as “the organ of form”. It is the fundamental supporting structure of the body.
The fascia is normally flexible and elastic. It responds to a question. It is continually moving, changing and reorganizing based on what the body requires of it.
The fascial system is conventionally described as being composed of individual layers. According to recent imaging under electron micrograph scanning it appears as a single continuous active microvacuolar framework.
Fascia is like a clingy sweater. When you catch a part of the sweater on a hook, the rest of the sweater gets pulled to some degree. Fascia can act in a similar way: when you are injured or tense in one part of your body, other parts often can consequently be affected.
Due to trauma, overuse, aging, judgement and fixed points of views, the fascia can solidify, thicken and bind down creating restrictions on the structures and organs of the body. This can have a variety of effects on the body ranging from pain and stiffness of muscles and bones to even possible organ dysfunction.
ESSE uses a variety of manipulations and techniques to release the restrictions on the fascia. In this way, it allows the body to re-organize with more ease of movement, improved range of motion, diminished pain, improved posture, dynamic structural alignment and an increased presence and ease of embodiment.
